Carpentier to make stock car debut
After nine years of open-wheel racing, Patrick Carpentier is set to make his stock car debut this weekend as part of the CASCAR series event at Cayuga Speedway. Carpentier, whose goal is to race in the NASCAR Busch series next season, will be behind the wheel of David Jacombs' No. 88 Ford Taurus.

CASCAR: Carpentier sixth in stock car debut
Canadian Patrick Carpentier had his first taste of stock car competition on Sunday, finishing sixth in the ninth round of the CASCAR Super Series at Cayuga International Speedway. Carpentier, a native of Joliette, Que., crossed the finish line with his car sideways after an encounter with an opponent on the last corner of the race. Dave Whitlock won the race, his second win of the season.
